  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: pinch of cayenne pepper for heat


Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 380°F.
  2. Prepare the chicken: Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, salt, pepper, and cayenne if using.
  3. Season the chicken: Rub the seasoning mixture all over the chicken thighs, coating both sides evenly.
  4. Cook the chicken: Place the chicken thighs skin-side down in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry for 12 minutes, flip, then cook for another 10–12 minutes or until the skin is crispy and the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra crispy skin, lightly spritz the thighs with oil before air frying.
  • Boneless, skinless thighs can also be used—reduce cooking time by about 5 minutes.
  • Serve with roasted vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad.
