Description

This Amazing Grilled Chicken Marinade is a perfect blend of tangy, sweet, and savory flavors that tenderize and infuse chicken breasts with vibrant taste. Marinated for several hours, this recipe yields juicy, flavorful grilled chicken ideal for summer cookouts or quick weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale

Marinade

  • ¼ cup cider vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbsp lime juice
  • 1½ Tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • 4 Tbsp olive oil
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Main

  • 6 boneless skinless chicken breast halves

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, lime juice, lemon juice, brown sugar, salt, olive oil, and black pepper until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: Place the chicken breasts in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Seal the bag or cover the dish, then refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to deeply penetrate the chicken.
  3. Preheat the Grill: When ready to cook, preheat your grill to medium-high heat to ensure a nice sear and even cooking.
  4. Grill the Chicken: Remove the chicken breasts from the marinade and discard the marinade. Place the chicken on the grill and cook for 8-10 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the chicken is cooked through with nice grill marks.
  5. Serve: Remove the grilled chicken from the grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving to retain juiciness. Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy!

Notes

  • Marinating overnight produces the best flavor, but 8 hours is sufficient if you’re short on time.
  • Ensure the chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) for food safety.
  • You can substitute lime juice with more lemon juice if preferred.
  • Use boneless, skinless chicken breasts for even cooking and easier grilling.
  • If you don’t have a grill, you can cook the chicken on a grill pan or skillet on the stovetop.
