- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven and prepare baking sheets: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream butter and sugar: In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Combine wet ingredients: Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and mashed bananas until well combined.
- Mix dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Combine wet and dry mixtures: Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Add optional ingredients: Fold in nuts and/or chocolate chips if using.
- Bake the cookies: Drop heaping tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are set.
- Cool and serve: Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
