Description

This Bang Bang Salmon Recipe features crispy air-fried salmon bites tossed in a zesty, creamy Bang Bang sauce made with mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and lime juice. It’s a quick and flavorful dish perfect for a delicious appetizer or main course, ready in just 27 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon Bites

  • 1 ½ pounds salmon fillets, skin removed and cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)

Bang Bang Sauce

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice

Instructions

  1. Make Bang Bang Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and lime juice until smooth and well combined. Set aside for serving.
  2. Season Salmon: In a large bowl, add the salmon bites along with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if using. Toss everything thoroughly to ensure each salmon piece is evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
  3. Preheat Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and let it preheat for a few minutes to ensure even cooking and crispy texture.
  4. Air Fry Salmon Bites: Place the seasoned salmon bites in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Cook them for about 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to promote even crisping. The salmon should be cooked through and have a crispy exterior.
  5. Serve: Once air frying is complete, transfer the salmon bites to a serving platter. Drizzle the prepared Bang Bang sauce generously over the salmon bites and serve with extra sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add more cayenne pepper or sriracha to the sauce according to your spice preference.
  • Make sure salmon pieces are evenly sized for uniform cooking in the air fryer.
  • If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake the salmon bites in the oven at 425°F (220°C) for 12-15 minutes, turning halfway through.
  • Leftover Bang Bang sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Serving suggestion: Pair with steamed rice or a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
