Pie Crust:
- 2 refrigerated pie crusts (or homemade pastry)
Filling:
- 1/2 cup fruit jam or preserves (any flavor)
Egg Wash:
- 1 egg, beaten
Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Topping:

Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the pastry: Roll out the pie crusts and cut into rectangles. Place half on the baking sheet.
- Add filling: Spoon jam onto each piece, brush edges with egg, and top with another pastry rectangle. Seal edges with a fork.
- Bake: Brush with egg wash and bake for 12–15 minutes until golden.
- Make glaze: Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Spread on cooled pop tarts.
- Finish: Add sprinkles if desired and let the glaze set before serving.
Notes
- You can make savory pop tarts by filling them with eggs, cheese, and bacon.
- Best served fresh but can be reheated in a toaster oven.
