Description

Delight your guests with these elegant Brie and Jam Puff Pastry Bites, a perfect blend of creamy brie, sweet fruit jam, and flaky puff pastry. Ideal as a sophisticated appetizer for holiday gatherings or casual parties, these bite-sized treats offer a harmonious balance of flavors and textures, enhanced with optional garnishes like chopped nuts, fresh thyme, or a drizzle of honey.

Ingredients

Scale

Pastry

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

Filling

  • 4 oz brie cheese, cut into small cubes
  • ⅓ cup fruit jam or preserves (such as raspberry, fig, or apricot)

Additional Ingredients

  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Optional: chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
  • Optional: fresh thyme
  • Optional: honey for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the oven and tin: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a mini muffin tin or line it with mini cupcake liners to prevent sticking.
  2. Cut and place puff pastry: Unroll the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into 24 equal squares. Gently press each square into the muffin cups, shaping them to form little pastry cups.
  3. Add the filling: Place one cube of brie cheese into each pastry cup, then top with about ½ teaspoon of your chosen fruit jam. For extra flavor and texture, sprinkle with optional chopped nuts or fresh thyme.
  4. Apply egg wash: Brush the edges of the puff pastry around each cup with the beaten egg to ensure a golden, glossy finish upon baking.
  5. Bake: Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 13 to 16 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
  6. Cool and serve: Allow the bites to cool slightly before removing them from the tin. Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally drizzling honey over the top for an extra touch of sweetness.

Notes

  • Best served the same day for optimal freshness and texture.
  • You can assemble the bites ahead of time and refrigerate them; bake just before serving.
  • Choose any fruit jam that pairs well with brie; fig and apricot are especially complementary.
