Description

Carrabba’s Bread Dipping Oil is a flavorful Italian herb-infused olive oil perfect for serving with warm, crusty bread. This savory dip combines crushed red pepper, black pepper, Italian herbs, garlic, and a touch of kosher salt, creating a restaurant-style accompaniment that’s easy to prepare and versatile.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Seasoning Mix

  • 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried rosemary (crushed)
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

Additional Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic (fresh or jarred)
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dry Seasoning Mix: In a small bowl or jar, combine the crushed red pepper flakes, freshly ground black pepper, dried oregano, crushed dried rosemary, dried basil, dried parsley, garlic powder, minced garlic, and kosher salt. Stir or shake thoroughly until all the ingredients are well blended into an even seasoning mix.
  2. Serve with Olive Oil: To serve, place about 1 teaspoon of the dry seasoning mix onto a small plate or shallow bowl. Pour extra virgin olive oil generously over the herb mixture, mixing gently with a fork or spoon to combine the oil with the seasonings.
  3. Add Optional Parmesan: If desired, sprinkle a small amount of grated Parmesan cheese on top of the herb-oil mixture to add a savory, cheesy flavor.
  4. Enjoy with Bread: Serve immediately alongside warm, crusty bread for dipping. The bread soaks up the aromatic, flavorful oil, creating a delicious appetizer or accompaniment to any meal.

Notes

  • Store leftover dry seasoning mix in an airtight container for up to 3 months to maintain freshness.
  • Always add olive oil fresh before serving to preserve the flavor and texture of the dip.
  • Adjust the amount of crushed red pepper flakes to control the spiciness according to your preference.
