- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Pasta and Sauce:
- 1 1/2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
- 1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Additional Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Cook Ground Beef: In a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is browned and the onion is soft, about 6 to 8 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
- Add Aromatics: Add the garlic and cook for 1 more minute until fragrant.
- Combine Ingredients: Stir in the uncooked macaroni, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, beef broth, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for 12 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and the mixture has thickened.
- Finish Dish: Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- For extra richness, stir in a splash of heavy cream with the cheese.
- You can also add bell peppers or mushrooms for added veggies.
- Use ground turkey as a lighter alternative to beef.
