Chicken Mixture
- 2 cups cooked chopped chicken
- 1 (10.5-oz) can Unsalted Cream of Chicken Soup
- 1 (8-oz) container sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ¼ tsp pepper
- 1½ Tbsp poppy seeds
Biscuit Topping
- 1 (16-oz) can refrigerated Grands! biscuits
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly spray a 9×13-inch baking pan with cooking spray to prevent sticking and set it aside.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the cooked chopped chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, pepper, and poppy seeds. Stir well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Prepare Biscuits: Cut each refrigerated biscuit into 6 small pieces. Add these biscuit pieces to the chicken mixture and toss gently to coat them thoroughly with the creamy mixture.
- Assemble and Bake: Pour the combined chicken and biscuit mixture into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the casserole is bubbly and the biscuit pieces are golden brown on top.
Notes
- You can use rotisserie chicken or leftover cooked chicken for convenience.
- For added flavor, sprinkle extra shredded cheese on top before baking.
- If you prefer a spicier dish, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or diced jalapeños to the mixture.
- Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes after baking to allow it to set before serving.
