Ingredients
Scale
Fresh Cilantro Dip:
- 1 cup fresh cilantro leaves (packed)
- 1–2 jalapeños (seeded for less heat)
Creamy Base:
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 clove garlic
- juice of 1 lime
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Additional:
- 1–2 tablespoons olive oil or water (to thin, as needed)
Instructions
- Blend Ingredients: In a food processor or blender, combine the cilantro, jalapeños, sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic, lime juice, and salt. Blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
- Adjust Consistency: If the dip is too thick, add olive oil or water 1 tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- Season to Taste: Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more lime juice or salt if desired.
- Chill and Serve: Transfer to a serving bowl and chill for 10–15 minutes before serving for best flavor.
Notes
- For a lighter version, use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
- Add an avocado for a creamier, guacamole-style dip.
- Great as a dip for veggies, chips, or as a sauce for tacos, grilled meats, or roasted veggies.
