Description

These Easter Egg Rice Krispie Treats are a delightful and easy-to-make dessert perfect for the holiday. Kids and adults alike will enjoy these cute, egg-shaped treats that are both tasty and fun to decorate.

Ingredients

Scale

Rice Krispie Treats:

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 (10-ounce) bag mini marshmallows (about 4 cups)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

For Decorating:

  • Candy melts or white chocolate (optional, for drizzle)
  • Sprinkles or small candies for decorating
  • Nonstick spray or butter (for hands)
  • Plastic Easter egg molds or clean hands for shaping

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the mini marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Quickly fold in the Rice Krispies cereal, stirring until well combined and evenly coated.

  3. Lightly coat your hands or the inside of plastic Easter egg molds with nonstick spray or butter.
  4. While the mixture is still warm, press portions of it into the egg molds or shape by hand to form egg shapes.

  5. Let cool completely on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Once cooled, drizzle with melted candy melts or white chocolate and decorate with sprinkles or small candies.

  7. Let set before serving or wrapping.

Notes

  • For colorful treats, divide the melted marshmallow mixture and tint each portion with pastel food coloring before adding cereal.
  • Wrap individually in clear treat bags for gifting or Easter baskets.
