Ingredients

Scale

Caramelized Onions:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 large yellow onions, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

Dip Base:

  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Garnish:

  • Optional chopped chives

Instructions

  1. Caramelize Onions: Heat olive oil in a skillet, add onions, salt, pepper, and sugar. Cook for 25-30 minutes until caramelized.
  2. Prepare Dip Base: Mix Worcestershire sauce, sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, and onion powder in a bowl.
  3. Combine Ingredients: Fold in cooled caramelized onions. Chill for at least 1 hour.

Notes

  • This dip tastes even better when made ahead and chilled overnight.
  • Serve with chips, crackers, or fresh veggies.
  • For a lighter option, use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
