Description

Garlic Bread Steak Bites are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or hearty snack featuring tender sirloin steak cubes seared in garlic butter, then served atop toasted bread slices with melted cheese and fresh parsley. Perfect for parties or a flavorful main course, this recipe combines savory steak with the comforting taste of garlic bread.

Ingredients

Scale

Steak Bites

  • 1 1/2 pounds sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Bread & Toppings

  • 1 French baguette or Italian loaf, sliced
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Season: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Season the cubed sirloin steak generously with salt and black pepper to enhance the meat’s natural flavors.
  2. Sear the Steak Bites: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak cubes in a single layer (cook in batches if needed to avoid overcrowding) and sear for 1–2 minutes per side, until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove the steak cubes from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the Garlic Butter: Lower the heat to medium and add the unsalted butter to the same skillet. Let it melt, then stir in the minced garlic, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant without browning.
  4. Toss Steak in Garlic Butter: Return the seared steak bites to the skillet and toss them well to coat in the buttery garlic mixture, infusing the steak with rich flavor.
  5. Prepare Bread & Assemble: Arrange the sliced bread on a baking sheet. Spoon the garlic butter-coated steak bites evenly onto each slice. Drizzle any remaining garlic butter from the pan over the top. If using, sprinkle shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese over each piece for a melty finish.
  6. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 5–7 minutes, or until the bread is toasted and the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley and crushed red pepper flakes if desired. Serve the garlic bread steak bites warm for best taste and texture.

Notes

  • For the best sear on your steak bites, use a cast iron skillet if available.
  • To enhance garlic flavor, rub fresh garlic cloves directly onto the toasted bread before adding the steak and toppings.
  • These steak bites make an excellent party appetizer or a satisfying snack for game days and gatherings.
