Description

These Garlic Parmesan Steak Bites served over creamy mashed potatoes make a delicious and hearty meal ready in just 30 minutes. Tender steak morsels are cooked to perfection in a garlic butter sauce with Parmesan cheese, complementing the smooth and buttery mashed potatoes for a comforting and savory dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Steak Bites

  • 1 pound steak (such as sirloin), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Mashed Potatoes

  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the steak bites: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak bites and cook for 4-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned evenly on all sides.
  2. Add garlic: Add the minced garlic to the skillet with the steak and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant, making sure not to burn the garlic.
  3. Finish steak sauce: Stir in the butter, garlic powder, onion powder, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Continue cooking for 2 more minutes, allowing the cheese to melt and coat the steak bites thoroughly.
  4. Boil potatoes: While the steak cooks, place peeled and diced potatoes in a large pot of salted water. Bring to a boil and cook for 10-12 minutes until the potatoes are fork-tender.
  5. Mash potatoes: Drain the potatoes well and return them to the pot. Mash them with heavy cream, milk, and butter until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve: Plate the mashed potatoes and spoon the garlic Parmesan steak bites over the top. Serve immediately and enjoy this hearty, flavorful meal.

Notes

  • Use sirloin or your preferred steak cut for best results.
  • Make sure to not overcook the steak bites to maintain their tenderness.
  • For extra richness, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or add more butter to the mashed potatoes.
  • You can prepare the steak bites and mashed potatoes simultaneously to reduce overall cooking time.
  • Leftover steak bites and mashed potatoes can be refrigerated up to 3 days and reheated gently.
