A creamy and flavorful Garlic Shrimp Pasta Bake combining tender shrimp, cheesy sauce, and perfectly cooked pasta baked to bubbly perfection.

Ingredients

Scale

Shrimp and Pasta

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 pound pasta (any type)

Sauce and Seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the pasta dish later.
  2. Cook Pasta: Boil the pasta according to the package directions until al dente, then drain and set it aside.
  3. Cook Shrimp: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and are cooked through. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
  4. Sauté Onion and Garlic: In the same skillet, add chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until softened, approximately 3-4 minutes.
  5. Make Roux: Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly to form a roux.
  6. Add Milk: Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until it thickens, about 5 minutes.
  7. Add Cheese and Seasoning: Stir in shredded cheddar cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper until the cheese has fully melted and the sauce is combined.
  8. Combine Pasta and Shrimp: Add the cooked pasta and shrimp into the cheese sauce; stir gently to combine all ingredients evenly.
  9. Prepare to Bake: Pour the shrimp and pasta mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  10. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until the dish is bubbly and heated through.
  11. Serve: Remove from oven, serve hot, and enjoy your delicious Garlic Shrimp Pasta Bake!

Notes

  • You can use any pasta shape you prefer, such as penne, rotini, or fusilli.
  • For extra flavor, a pinch of red pepper flakes can be added to the sauce.
  • If you want a crispier top, sprinkle additional Parmesan cheese before baking.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
  • Make sure not to overcook the shrimp to keep them tender and juicy.
