Ingredients
Scale
Asparagus
- 1 pound fresh asparagus, trimmed
Seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or minced fresh garlic (optional)
Optional Garnishes
- Lemon wedges
- Grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the grill: Heat your grill to medium-high heat to prepare for cooking the asparagus.
- Season the asparagus: In a large bowl or on a tray, toss the trimmed asparagus spears with olive oil, salt, pepper, and optional garlic until they are evenly coated.
- Grill the asparagus: Place the asparagus directly on the grill grates perpendicular to the lines or use a grill basket. Grill for 6–8 minutes, turning occasionally, until tender and lightly charred.
- Serve: Transfer the grilled asparagus to a plate and serve immediately. Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
- Use thicker asparagus spears for best grilling results; thinner spears cook faster and may need less time.
- If you don’t have an outdoor grill, you can cook the asparagus on a stovetop grill pan.
- Adjust seasoning and optional garlic to your taste preferences.
