Description

These Healthy Strawberry Protein Balls are a delicious and nutritious snack, packed with plant-based protein, fiber, and natural sweetness from freeze-dried strawberries and maple syrup. Perfect for a quick energy boost or post-workout fuel, they require no baking and can be prepared in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 cup vanilla protein powder (plant-based)
  • 1/4 cup freeze-dried strawberries, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • Pinch of salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the almond flour, vanilla protein powder, crushed freeze-dried strawberries, chia seeds, and a pinch of salt. Stir well to evenly distribute all dry components.
  2. Add wet ingredients: Pour in the maple syrup, melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract into the dry mix. Stir everything together thoroughly until a consistent dough forms that can be handled without crumbling.
  3. Form balls: Using your hands, portion and roll the dough into 12 evenly sized small balls. Make sure they are firm and hold their shape well.
  4. Chill to set: Place the formed protein balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet or plate. Refrigerate them for at least 30 minutes to allow the mixture to firm up and hold its shape.
  5. Store properly: After chilling, store the protein balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They will stay fresh and tasty for up to a week, making them a convenient grab-and-go snack.

Notes

  • For a nut-free option, substitute almond flour with oat flour or sunflower seed flour.
  • Freeze-dried strawberries add great flavor and texture, but you can also use freeze-dried raspberries or blueberries for a different taste.
  • If you prefer sweeter balls, add an extra tablespoon of maple syrup.
  • Make sure the coconut oil is melted but not hot to avoid cooking the dry ingredients prematurely.
  • These balls can be frozen for up to one month. Thaw in the refrigerator before eating.
