Ingredients
Scale
Dry Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 1½ cups granulated sugar
- ½ cup packed light brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Add-ins
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips or chunks
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare pan. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
- Mix wet ingredients. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is smooth and combined.
- Add eggs and vanilla. Add the eggs one at a time along with the vanilla extract, whisking after each addition until the mixture becomes glossy and well incorporated.
- Combine dry ingredients. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt to remove lumps and ensure even distribution.
- Fold dry into wet. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spatula until just combined; avoid overmixing to keep brownies tender.
- Stir in chocolate chips. Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips or chunks evenly throughout the batter.
- Transfer and smooth. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula or back of a spoon.
- Bake the brownies. Bake in the preheated oven for 28–32 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached, indicating perfect fudginess.
- Cool and slice. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before slicing them into 16 squares for serving.
Notes
- For extra fudgy brownies, slightly underbake them to retain moistness.
- You can add nuts or swirl in peanut butter or caramel before baking for added flavor and texture.
- Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days to maintain freshness.
