Butter Glaze:

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugar: In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  3. Mix dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  4. Shape and bake: Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough, roll into balls, and place them on the baking sheet. Flatten the tops. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set.
  5. Make glaze: In a saucepan, melt butter with sugar and water. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla.
  6. Glaze cookies: Once cookies are baked, brush the warm glaze over each cookie. Let cool to set.
