Description

Kool-Aid Gummy Treats are a fun and easy homemade snack made with water, unsweetened Kool-Aid powder, sugar, and unflavored gelatin. These colorful, fruit-flavored gummies are perfect for kids and adults alike, offering a sweet, chewy candy alternative that’s simple to prepare and customize with various Kool-Aid flavors.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 packet unsweetened Kool-Aid (any flavor)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons unflavored gelatin (such as Knox)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a small saucepan, whisk together the water, Kool-Aid powder, granulated sugar, and gelatin until the mixture is fully combined. Let it sit for 5 minutes to allow the gelatin to bloom, which helps the gummies set properly.
  2. Heat Mixture: Place the saucepan over low heat and stir constantly for 2 to 3 minutes until the gelatin and sugar are completely dissolved and the mixture is smooth. Be careful not to let the mixture boil, as this can affect the texture of the gummies.
  3. Pour Into Molds: Carefully pour the warm mixture into silicone molds or a lightly greased 8×8-inch baking dish. The molds will shape the gummies, or the baking dish can be used to cut into squares after setting.
  4. Chill: Refrigerate the mixture for 1 to 2 hours, or until the gummies are fully set and firm to the touch.
  5. Remove and Store: Once set, remove the gummies from the molds or cut the gelatin sheet from the baking dish into small squares. Store the gummies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week to maintain freshness and texture.

Notes

  • Use different Kool-Aid flavors in separate batches to create a colorful, rainbow assortment of gummies.
  • Lightly dust the finished gummies with cornstarch to prevent them from sticking together.
