Scale
Fudge Base
- 3 cups White Chocolate Chips
- 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk (14 ounce can)
- 4 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
- 3 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
- 3 Tablespoons Lemon Zest
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper to prevent the fudge from sticking and to make removal easy after it sets.
- Combine Ingredients: In a saucepan, add the sweetened condensed milk, unsalted butter, lemon juice, and 2 tablespoons of the lemon zest. Heat over low to medium heat, stirring frequently.
- Heat and Mix: Continue stirring and heating the mixture gently until all ingredients are fully combined and the butter has melted.
- Melt the Chocolate: Remove the saucepan from the heat, then stir in the white chocolate chips. Stir continuously until the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Transfer and Chill: Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle the remaining 1 tablespoon of lemon zest evenly on top. Allow the fudge to cool to room temperature.
- Set the Fudge: Cover the pan and place it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours to allow the fudge to fully set.
- Serve: Once set, cut the fudge into 24 pieces and serve chilled.
Notes
- For best results, use fresh lemon zest and juice for vibrant citrus flavor.
- Line the pan with parchment paper extending over the edges for easy removal of fudge.
- Store leftover fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- You can substitute white chocolate chips with white chocolate bars chopped into small pieces if preferred.
- Ensure to stir constantly while melting ingredients to avoid burning the mixture.
