Description

This Melting Witch Poke Cake is a spooky, festive dessert perfect for Halloween celebrations. It features a moist chocolate cake with sweetened condensed milk soaked into poke holes, topped with vibrant green pudding, whipped topping, and decorated with Halloween-themed sprinkles and candy witch decorations. Chilled to set, this fun and colorful cake combines rich chocolate flavors with creamy textures and eye-catching presentation.

Ingredients

Scale

Cake

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients listed on box)

Filling & Topping

  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup green-colored pudding (prepared vanilla pudding with green food coloring)
  • 1 1/2 cups whipped topping (such as Cool Whip)
  • 1/4 cup Halloween sprinkles
  • 68 melting witch decorations (candies like candy hats, legs, or melted icing shapes)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cake: Prepare and bake the chocolate cake in a 9×13-inch pan according to the package instructions. Once baked, let the cake cool for 10 minutes to set slightly.
  2. Poke the Cake: Use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the surface of the cake, spacing them about 1 inch apart. These holes will allow the sweetened condensed milk to soak in evenly.
  3. Add Sweetened Condensed Milk: Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the cake, making sure it seeps into all the poke holes. Refrigerate the cake for 15 minutes to let the milk absorb fully.
  4. Apply Green Pudding: Spread the green-colored pudding evenly over the top of the cake, gently pressing it into the holes for texture and flavor. Chill the cake again for another 10 minutes to allow the pudding to set slightly.
  5. Finish with Whipped Topping and Decorations: Spread the whipped topping over the pudding layer. Sprinkle with Halloween-themed sprinkles and arrange the melting witch decorations on top for a fun, spooky presentation. Keep the cake refrigerated until ready to serve.

Notes

  • You can make your own green pudding by mixing green gel or liquid food coloring into prepared vanilla pudding.
  • For an extra spooky touch, use black icing or melted chocolate to draw puddles or “melting” outlines around the witch decorations.
  • This cake is best served chilled to maintain its creamy texture and vibrant decorations.
