Description

Million Dollar Dip is a rich and creamy appetizer featuring a blend of cream cheese, mayonnaise, cheddar, bacon, almonds, and seasonings. This indulgent dip is perfect for parties and gatherings, combining savory and nutty flavors with a hint of spice, served chilled with crackers, toasted baguette, or fresh vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale

Dip Ingredients

  • ⅔ cup slivered almonds, toasted and chopped (90g)
  • 1 (8-ounce/226g) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup mayonnaise (210g)
  • 8 ounces cheddar cheese, grated (226g)
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked until crisp, finely chopped (40g)
  • 4 green onions, thinly sliced
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine base ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and mayonnaise with a rubber or silicone spatula. Mix well to combine, ensuring most of the cream cheese is blended into the mayonnaise. It’s okay if the mixture isn’t perfectly smooth.
  2. Add remaining ingredients: Gently fold in the toasted and chopped almonds, grated cheddar cheese, finely chopped cooked bacon, thinly sliced green onions, garlic powder, ground black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the dip.
  3. Chill: Cover the bowl with a lid or plastic wrap and refrigerate the dip for 1 hour. This resting time allows the flavors to meld together and the dip to firm up for optimal serving texture.
  4. Serve: Before serving, optionally top with a few more sliced green onions for added color and freshness. Serve with buttery crackers, toasted baguette slices, and/or fresh cut vegetables for dipping.

Notes

  • Ensure cream cheese is softened to room temperature for easier mixing and smoother texture.
  • Toast almonds lightly to enhance their flavor and crunch.
  • Bacon should be cooked until crisp for texture contrast; drain excess grease before chopping.
  • The dip can be made a day ahead and refrigerated to deepen flavor.
  • Adjust cayenne pepper quantity to taste if a milder or spicier dip is preferred.
  • Serve chilled for best consistency and flavor.
