Ingredients
Scale
Taco Shells
- 8 small flour tortillas
- Olive oil for brushing
Filling
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 24–32 slices pepperoni (3–4 per taco)
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Optional Toppings
- Red pepper flakes
- Fresh basil leaves
- Grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare shells: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Lightly grease a muffin tin or use the bottom side of an inverted muffin tin to drape the small flour tortillas, shaping them into taco shells. Lightly brush each tortilla with olive oil to enhance crispiness.
- Bake shells: Place the prepared tortillas in the oven and bake for 5–7 minutes, until they become slightly crisp and hold the taco shape.
- Assemble tacos: Remove the taco shells from the oven and set them upright in a baking dish or on a baking sheet. Spoon about a tablespoon of pizza sauce into each shell, then evenly sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.
- Add toppings: Place 3–4 pepperoni slices on each taco. Sprinkle each with a pinch of Italian seasoning and garlic powder for added flavor.
- Bake to melt cheese: Return the tacos to the oven and bake for another 7–10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and the edges of the tortilla shells turn golden brown.
- Garnish and serve: Let the pepperoni pizza tacos cool slightly. Garnish with optional red pepper flakes, fresh basil, or grated Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- Try adding sautéed mushrooms, bell peppers, or cooked sausage inside for extra variety and flavor.
- Use mini tortillas or cut larger tortillas down to size for smaller, bite-sized servings.
- Brushing the tortillas with olive oil before baking helps achieve a crispy texture.
- These tacos can be assembled in advance and baked just before serving for convenience.
