Description

This Pineapple Habanero Hot Sauce is a sweet and spicy condiment that adds a tropical kick to any dish. Made with fresh pineapple, fiery habanero peppers, and a hint of sweetness, it’s perfect for adding a flavorful heat to grilled meats, tacos, eggs, and seafood.

Ingredients

Fresh Pineapple:

2 cups chopped;

Habanero Peppers:

4–6 stemmed (seeded for less heat);

Onion:

1/2 cup chopped;

Garlic Cloves:

2;

White Vinegar:

1/2 cup;

Lime Juice:

1/4 cup;

Honey or Agave Nectar:

1 tablespoon;

Salt:

1/2 teaspoon;

Olive Oil:

1 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Sauté Onion and Garlic: In a medium saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened.
  2. Cook Pineapple and Habaneros: Add pineapple and habaneros, cook for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
  3. Blend Ingredients: Transfer mixture to a blender. Add vinegar, lime juice, honey, and salt. Blend until smooth.
  4. Adjust Seasoning: Taste and adjust seasoning or sweetness as needed.
  5. Store: Pour into sterilized glass bottles or jars. Refrigerate for up to 1 month. Shake before using.

Notes

  • Wear gloves when handling habaneros to avoid skin irritation.
  • For a milder sauce, use fewer peppers or remove all seeds and membranes.
  • This sauce pairs well with grilled meats, tacos, eggs, and seafood.
