Scale
Dry Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
- 1 large egg
- 3/4 cup milk
Cheeses and Meats
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup mini pepperoni or chopped pepperoni
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Optional Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped bell peppers or onions (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil or parsley (optional for garnish)
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce (for dipping)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a mini muffin tin by greasing it or lining it with mini paper liners.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt to evenly distribute all dry components.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk the egg and milk together until well combined, then gradually add this mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring just until combined to avoid over-mixing.
- Add Cheese and Pepperoni: Gently fold in the shredded mozzarella cheese, mini or chopped pepperoni, grated Parmesan cheese, and any optional finely chopped bell peppers or onions for extra flavor and texture.
- Fill Muffin Cups: Spoon the batter evenly into the mini muffin cups, filling each about three-quarters full to allow the puffs to rise during baking.
- Bake: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 18 to 22 minutes, or until the puffs are puffed up and golden brown on top.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the pizza puffs to cool for a few minutes before removing them from the tin. Serve warm with pizza sauce for dipping, garnished with chopped fresh basil or parsley if desired.
Notes
