Description

A cozy and aromatic Pumpkin Spice Cappuccino made with fresh espresso, creamy milk, real pumpkin puree, warm pumpkin pie spices, and sweet maple syrup. This delightful seasonal beverage is perfect for a comforting treat on chilly days, topped with whipped cream and a cinnamon stick for an inviting presentation.

Ingredients

Scale

Drink Base

  • 2 to 4 shots (60 to 120 ml) espresso or strong coffee, freshly brewed and hot

Pumpkin Spice Milk Mixture

  • ½ cup (120 ml) milk, whole preferred for creaminess
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) 100% pure pumpkin puree, bright orange color for freshness
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) pumpkin pie spice (blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and allspice)

Garnish

  • Cinnamon sticks, for garnish
  • Canned whipped cream (optional), to top

Instructions

  1. Brew the Coffee: Brew 2 to 4 shots of espresso or prepare strong coffee until hot. Use high-quality, fresh beans, preferably dark roast ground just before brewing, to ensure a rich foundation for the drink.
  2. Mix Pumpkin Milk Base: In a medium saucepan, whisk together ¼ cup pumpkin puree, ½ cup whole milk, 2 tablespoons pumpkin pie spice, and 2 tablespoons maple syrup until smooth and well combined.
  3. Heat the Mixture: Place the saucepan over medium heat and warm the pumpkin mixture, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Continue heating for about 5 minutes until it gently boils and the spices release their full aroma, resulting in a smooth consistency.
  4. Combine Coffee and Pumpkin Mixture: Remove the saucepan from heat and pour in the hot espresso. Whisk vigorously to blend all ingredients thoroughly, ensuring no lumps remain and the texture is creamy and uniform.
  5. Serve and Garnish: Pour the pumpkin spice cappuccino into a mug. Optionally top with canned whipped cream, garnish with a cinnamon stick, and lightly dust pumpkin pie spice on top for extra aroma and appeal.

Notes

  • Use whole milk for a creamier texture; you may substitute with any milk alternative but the flavor and creaminess will vary.
  • Adjust pumpkin pie spice quantity according to personal preference for intensity.
  • Espresso can be replaced with strong brewed coffee but using espresso creates the authentic cappuccino experience.
  • For a vegan version, use plant-based milk and a suitable sweetener instead of maple syrup if preferred.
