Apple Filling:
- 3 medium apples, peeled and finely diced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Salted Caramel:
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt (or to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Mix crust: In a large bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add melted butter and mix until crumbly. Reserve 1 cup for topping.
- Form crust: Press remaining mixture into the pan to form the crust. Bake for 10 minutes.
- Prepare apple filling: Toss diced apples with flour, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Layer and bake: Spread apple filling over warm crust, drizzle with caramel, and top with reserved crumb mixture. Bake for 30–35 minutes.
- Cool and serve: Cool completely, drizzle with more caramel if desired, chill, and slice into bars.

- Use tart apples like Granny Smith for the best contrast with the caramel.
- Bars can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days.
