- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup sour cream
Frosting:
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- food coloring (optional)
- holiday sprinkles for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Make the cookie dough: Cream together butter and sugar, then add eggs, vanilla, and almond extract. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients, alternating with sour cream.
- Bake the cookies: Drop dough onto the baking sheet and bake for 9–11 minutes until golden. Cool on a wire rack.
- Prepare the frosting: Beat butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until creamy. Add food coloring if desired.
- Frost the cookies: Frost cooled cookies and decorate with sprinkles.
