Ingredients
Scale
Chicken Filling
- 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Additional Ingredients
- 1 cup shredded pepper jack cheese
- 1 ripe avocado, sliced
- 1/4 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 4 large flour tortillas
Instructions
- Sauté Garlic and Chicken: In a skillet over medium heat, warm the olive oil and sauté the minced garlic for 1 minute until fragrant. Add the shredded chicken, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Stir to coat and cook for 2–3 minutes until heated through, then remove from heat.
- Prepare Lime-Cilantro Cream: In a small bowl, combine the sour cream (or Greek yogurt) with lime juice and chopped fresh cilantro. Mix well to create a tangy and fresh sauce for the wraps.
- Assemble Wraps: Lay the flour tortillas flat and spread a spoonful of the lime-cilantro cream evenly over each one. Top each tortilla with the spicy garlic chicken mixture, shredded pepper jack cheese, and slices of ripe avocado. Fold the sides of the tortilla and roll tightly into wraps.
- Crisp the Wraps: To crisp, place the wraps seam-side down either in a skillet over medium heat or in an air fryer preheated to 375°F (190°C). Cook for 3–4 minutes per side until the wraps are golden brown and the cheese inside is melted. Remove, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
- Rotisserie chicken works well for convenience and adds great flavor.
- For extra spice, add sliced jalapeños or a drizzle of your favorite hot sauce inside the wraps.
- These wraps can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator; crisp them just before serving for best texture.
