Fresh Strawberry Basil Lemonade:
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
- 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4β6 lemons)
- 1/2 cup honey or simple syrup
- 4 cups cold water
- Ice cubes as needed
- Lemon slices and extra strawberries for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Blend Ingredients: In a blender, combine the strawberries, basil, lemon juice, and honey (or simple syrup). Blend until smooth.
- Strain Mixture: Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove seeds and pulp.
- Add Water: Add the cold water and stir well to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
- Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour in the strawberry basil lemonade, and garnish with lemon slices, fresh strawberries, and basil sprigs if desired. Serve chilled.
Notes
- For a sparkling version, replace some or all of the cold water with chilled sparkling water just before serving.
- Adjust sweetness based on the ripeness of your strawberries.
- You can prepare the base ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 days before adding water.
