Description

A vibrant and refreshing Strawberry Pineapple Salsa that combines sweet pineapple and strawberries with tangy cherry tomatoes and a hint of jalapeno heat, perfect as a versatile topping or a standalone snack. Ready in just 10 minutes, this fresh salsa is ideal for summertime gatherings or a light, flavorful treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Fresh Fruits

  • 1 Pineapple
  • 1 lb Strawberries
  • 2/3 Cup Cherry Tomatoes

Vegetables & Herbs

  • 1/2 – 1 Jalapeno (optional)
  • 1/2 Small Red Onion
  • 1/3 Cup Fresh Cilantro

Seasoning & Dressing

  • 3 Tbsp Lime Juice
  • 1/4 Tsp Sea Salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pineapple and Strawberries: Remove the stem and skin from the pineapple and chop the inner fruit into small, tidbit-sized pieces. Hull the strawberries by removing their stems and chop them into similarly sized chunks.
  2. Chop the Cherry Tomatoes: Cut the cherry tomatoes into pieces matching the size of the chopped strawberries to keep a consistent texture throughout the salsa.
  3. Prepare the Jalapeno and Onion: Remove the ribs and seeds from the jalapeno for less heat, then finely dice it. Adjust the amount according to your spice preference. Finely dice the red onion as well.
  4. Chop the Cilantro: Roughly chop the fresh cilantro leaves to add to the salsa, giving it a bright herbal note.
  5. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine all the chopped fruits and vegetables. Sprinkle with the lime juice and sea salt.
  6. Mix and Serve: Gently stir all ingredients together to evenly distribute flavors. Enjoy immediately or let it chill in the refrigerator for a more melded taste.

Notes

  • Adjust the jalapeno quantity to control the heat level.
  • This salsa is perfect served with chips, grilled meats, or as a fresh topping for tacos.
  • Best served fresh but can be refrigerated up to 2 days for enhanced flavors.
  • Use fresh, ripe fruits for optimal sweetness and texture.
