Ingredients
Scale
Tea Base
- 2 black tea bags or 2 teaspoons loose black tea
- 1 1/2 cups water
Milk Mixture
- 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy such as oat or almond)
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Garnish
- Cinnamon stick (optional)
Instructions
- Boil Water and Steep Tea: In a small saucepan, bring 1 1/2 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the black tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for 4-5 minutes to develop a rich flavor, then carefully remove the tea bags.
- Add Milk and Flavorings: Stir in 1 cup of milk, 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup if using, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, and 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract into the brewed tea, blending all flavors smoothly together.
- Warm the Mixture: Return the saucepan to low heat and gently warm the mixture. Stir continuously to prevent the milk from scorching, heating until the tea is hot but not boiling.
- Serve: Pour the vanilla cinnamon milk tea into mugs. Garnish with a cinnamon stick if desired for extra aroma and presentation. Serve warm and enjoy this cozy beverage.
Notes
- For a stronger tea flavor, increase steeping time or use additional tea bags.
- This recipe adapts well to iced tea; simply chill after preparation and serve over ice.
- Use oat milk or almond milk for a creamy dairy-free alternative.
- Adjust sweetness by varying the amount of honey or maple syrup, or omit for a less sweet drink.
