Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out the puff pastry and cut into two rectangles. Bake until golden and puffed. Let cool.
- Make the custard: In a saucepan, combine milk, sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Temper egg yolks, then cook the mixture until thickened. Add vanilla and butter. Chill.
- Assemble: Layer puff pastry and custard in a dish. Chill to set. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
