Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it is hot and ready for baking the casserole evenly.
  2. Cook Meat: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, turkey, or plant-based ground meat until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat to keep the casserole from being greasy.
  3. Combine Soup and Veggies: Stir the cream of mushroom soup and milk into the cooked meat until well blended. Then add the frozen mixed vegetables, seasoning the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Assemble Casserole: Spread the meat and vegetable mixture evenly into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer over the top, then sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the tater tots.
